Spiral Futomomo

The futomomo (usually translated as “fat-leg”) is a way to tie the leg closed back on itself.  This can also be used on the arm in the same way.  Futomomo generally refers to the body position and not the tie so there are many, many different futomomo ties.  We will explore two common ones that show concepts that you will use in other ties.  The spiral version will teach controlling tensions while wrapping, hitching at an angle and the munter hitch.
