Nerve Injury Basics

4Nerves are those very, very important things in your body that not only tell you what you are feeling but also control your muscles.  Some nerves are buried deep in your body while a lot are close to the surface of the skin.  The most common injury from rope bondage is nerve damage.  Unfortunately nerves are very slow to heal and can take months to years to heal if severely damaged.  The majority of injuries are sensation loss in areas or slightly weaker muscle control but that can easily affect a person’s ability to function and work.  Shibari Study has a great video on anatomy basics which you must watch before proceeding.  There are other great resources here.
