When doing ties that require a lot of rope, it is much easier and faster to use multiple pieces of rope rather than one very long piece. When starting a tie with 100 ft of rope, you will spend most of your time pulling it through and it will easily tangle. Using multiple 25-30 ft pieces will let you control the rope better and spend much less time pulling it through.
