Fundamentals of Suspension

November 16th from 11am to 5pm – Tickets available on bodyshopclubs.com!

This will be a full day class covering the fundamentals of partial and full rope suspensions. We will start off reviewing some safety info for both tops and bottoms as well as get familiar with some terminology so that we are all on the same page. From there you’ll learn a basic hip harness and an arms free chest harness. We’ll go over how to tie the uplines to them, tying off the uplines, managing the uplines, and easily resolve common jams that may occur.

This class will require that you know all of the fundamentals that are covered in Rope Fundamentals I on the ropebitepgh.com site/class. This is not a class for people new to rope and we won’t have time to review the concepts from Rope Fundamentals I. For this class I suggest that you have a kit of rope (jute, hemp, POSH or MFP preferred) that has 8-10 full lengths (8m-30ft usually) and 2 half lengths (4m-15ft), and a suspension ring and/or climbing rated carabiners. I usually suggest non-locking oval carabiners like these.  I do have two kits and a few suspension rings available to borrow should you not have them now.

We will be starting promptly at 10am and going till somewhere around 5pm. There will be a short lunch break. We will provide some snacks and drinks but you’ll need to pack your own lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave there.

Tickets are available through The Body Shop site but you do not need to be a member. 1 ticket is for 1 tying pair. If the tying pair are both switches, there should be time for both to try things so long as you pick it up quickly.  If the ticket price is what keeps you from coming to any Rope Bite class/intensive, please reach out to The Body Shop as soon as possible and they will do everything they can to get you in.

Please email me at russ@twistedview.net if you have any questions.
